We are thrilled to announce that Premier Academy of the Performing Arts has been officially approved as both a Junior and Senior Chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA), a program of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO).
This recognition marks an exciting new chapter in our commitment to celebrating not just the talent of our dancers, but also their dedication, discipline, leadership, and academic achievement.
What is NHSDA?
The National Honor Society for Dance Arts honors students who have demonstrated outstanding merit in dance through artistry, leadership, and academic excellence. The program aims to encourage well-rounded dance students to strive for excellence both in and out of the studio, while also building a sense of community and national recognition among young artists.
What This Means for Our Dancers
As an official NHSDA Chapter, Premier Academy can now induct qualifying dancers into the Junior (grades 6–8) and Senior (grades 9–12) levels of the organization. Inducted members will receive:
- National recognition for their achievements in dance
- The opportunity to wear the NHSDA honor cords at graduation
- Leadership and service opportunities within the dance community
- Access to scholarships and special programs offered through NDEO
This program aligns beautifully with our mission to not only build technical skill and artistry, but also to foster confidence, character, and a passion for lifelong learning in our students.
Looking Ahead
We will be sharing more details soon about how dancers can qualify, apply, and work toward induction. Whether your dancer is already demonstrating strong leadership or is eager to grow in that direction, the NHSDA is an exciting opportunity to be recognized for the hard work and heart they bring to the dance floor.
We are proud to continue investing in programs that celebrate the whole dancer — body, mind, and spirit.
Stay tuned for updates, and join us in celebrating this exciting step forward for our Premier Academy dance family!
